This is a fantastic Victorian Staffordshire Mantel Spaniel from around 1897, Made from ceramic there are traces of gold paint on the body of the dog, a lock and chain around the neck and he has a black nose and yellow eyes. This is in wonderful condition,  There are signs of wear of paint around the dog's nose but this is expected for its age no damage otherwise.
The dog has a firing hole at the back.
These are highly sought after a really lovely piece of history.
