A piece of ' Blackware' late 1970 possibly early 80s  studio pottery with the makers mark under the base.  In the style of  'Amphora' with its small handles and dimpled texture, Heavy in weight and made of clay.
An underline shade of red in areas over an unglazed black finish to resemble a volcanic looking antique piece.  A piece that would not look out of place in any mid century home.
