A wonderful example of a 1930s Asian Art Deco vase.
Made from the renowned Bien Hoa school of fine arts in Vietnam, ( formerly French Indochina).
This vase is an earlier example from the 1930s. Hand-painted with a rough brush stroke and finished in a deep reddish/brown matt paint. The black glazed individually cut animals and figures are in a glazed enamel and the pot is made from a ceramic stoneware.
The vase itself is in fantastic condition, there is a 3 scored finger impression at the base some of these vases were initialed by students this one is quite unique (shown in pics 6/7).
Highly collectable for their beauty and cultural heritage.
A lovely statement piece that will fit along any house aesthetic.
